The IT industry provides opportunities for individuals who are just starting their careers in information technology. It is a dynamic and rapidly evolving field that plays a critical role in the modern business world.

IT functions include, providing technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and resolving technical problems, managing and maintaining desktop computers, installing software, and ensuring hardware functionality I.T Professionals will also support by, offering technical assistance to employees within an organization, including troubleshooting network issues, assisting with software installations, and managing user accounts.

The entry-level IT industry offers a pathway for individuals to enter the field of information technology and gain practical experience that can lead to rewarding and diverse career opportunities. It is a field that rewards continuous learning and adaptability, given the ever-evolving nature of technology.

IT Users

The IT Users qualification is set a L2 and you will gain an Award, Certificate and/or Diploma dependent on the competence that you show across a range of applications. The greater the range of qualifications the higher the level of attainment. At the initial level you will work on presentation software, internet and email but as you progress you will work with a high level of word processing, spreadsheets, databases, imagery & photography software, desktop publishing and where appropriate, coding software. In additional you will consider the fundamentals of work with ICT and identify where improvements can be made.

Single Subject: Warehousing & Stores can be chosen as a Single Subject within our youth provision ‘Skills for Life and Work’ programme. As a single subject your focus will solely be on enhancing and advancing your skills and knowledge within the industry with a range of Classroom and practical sessions weekly as well as sourcing and attending live immersive work experience allowing you to demonstrate your skills attained.

All SFLW programmes come with secondary elements, such as Essential Skills, Personal Development and Employment Rights and Responsibilities training.

BroadBase: BroadBase gives you the ability to sample several different Vocational areas within the ‘Skills for life and Work’ programme, within the BroadBase option you will be able to sample and develop a range of skills within the warehousing & Stores industry amongst 2 other vocational subject areas, before defining your single subject choice.

All SFLW programmes come with secondary elements, such as Essential Skills, Personal Development and Employment Rights and Responsibilities training.

Apprenticeship: Opportunities for all ages to enhance and advance their Skills in Warehousing & Stores to Level 2 or 3 through the Department for Economies approved Apprenticeship 2021 programme.

Employed a minimum of 21 hours per week in a Warehousing & Stores Role, then you can potentially be eligible for a training and development package within this programme.

Apprenticeships are also an evolvement from our BroadBase to Single Subject ‘Skills for Life and Work’ programme and a pathway encouraged for all programme participants.

Our Essential Skills offer is extensive at Impact Training, we offer Literacy, Numeracy and Information Technology up to including Level 2.

Dependant on the course requirements all participants will be assessed for suitability of level of essential skills and we actively promote progression within the Essential Skills delivery model at Impact Training, our team of highly skilled tutors will always endeavour to support, challenge and develop a range of skills and attributes that will enhance the level of achievement of every participant, for more information on Essential Skills at Impact Training Click Here
Qualifications and work experience are essential components in our provision but there is much more to being a student at Impact Training. We are committed to raising aspirations in young people and trying to bring the best out of them. This will include introducing them to experiences outside of the curriculum and equipping them with the skills and values that will help to shape their future.



Through EVOLVE you will engage in a wide range of World of Work events that will introduce you to greater opportunities in your industry/sector. It will also allow you to support your community, expand citizenship, develop your physical and mental health, apply your essential skills to real activities, gain new skills, gain additional qualifications to improve wider career prospects and improve your personal development. All of this will be through events and activities arranged by our staff. All you have to do is enrol on the events and get involved.



Broadbase offers short courses in 3 subjects and the chance to specialise in the one that best suits your ambitions. Our Foundation Programme allows you to gain qualifications in year 1 and progress to higher qualifications in year 2. We also offer a wide range of enhancements to complement your experiences and to improve your chances of securing employment at the end of the programme. These include but are not limited to: CSR Cards, First Aid Courses, Food Hygiene, Customer Service Courses, Abrasive Wheels, Photography, Coding, VR Courses, Sign Language, additional Barbering & Hairdressing courses etc. Through the Employment Academy we can focus your final term on securing employment and Apprenticeship positions so you can move to the next stage of your career.
